About the Role:
As a Senior Test Engineer, you will lead efforts to validate the quality, performance, and safety of 42dot’s software-defined vehicle platforms and mobility services. You will design and implement comprehensive test strategies across embedded systems, cloud infrastructure, and AI-driven features. In this role, you will mentor junior team members, help shape testing frameworks, and collaborate cross-functionally to drive a high standard of excellence across the engineering organization.
Responsibilities:
Design and execute robust test plans and automation frameworks for end-to-end system validation, from embedded vehicle software to cloud-connected services.
Lead integration, regression, performance, and system-level testing for mission-critical automotive and mobility applications.
Collaborate with engineering, product, and QA teams to ensure requirements are well-understood and testable.
Drive improvements to CI/CD pipelines, test infrastructure, and tooling to enable efficient and scalable validation.
Investigate and resolve complex issues across software, hardware, and network boundaries.
Mentor and guide junior test engineers, promoting best practices in test development and execution.
Contribute to risk assessments and ensure adherence to automotive safety and quality standards.
Stay informed about new tools, methodologies, and trends in testing to continuously evolve 42dot's quality strategy.
Requirements:
5+ years of experience in software testing or quality engineering, preferably in automotive or high-reliability embedded systems.
Expertise in test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Robot Framework, pytest, Selenium, or equivalent).
Experience designing and executing test strategies for distributed systems, embedded platforms, and/or cloud infrastructure.
Hands-on experience with HIL (hardware-in-the-loop) systems, simulation environments, and real-time testing tools.
Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 26262, ASPICE, or similar is a plus.
Strong programming or scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar.
Proven ability to lead projects and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
